Submit your articles and images to us and we will decide if it is to go on the site or in the magazine. We are quite aware you are not all writers, but you must do your best!
The editing team guide on the appropriateness of the narrative and coordinate and advise the images being used.
If you want to express yourself through narrative and articles then again, the responsibility to produce pieces to sit alongside the best is yours. Your ideas and submissions will always be welcome.
A Narrative is a description or chronicling of events.
In the articles that we publish, we want you to take the reader on a descriptive journey along with your images. We want the reader to feel and live the event. The reader wants to sink into the atmosphere and sense the fear, conditions, tension or elation.
It is always good to throw in snippets of history or facts from the area you have visited. Maybe items of equipment and brands can be scattered along the way with problems encountered.
You are aiming to have the reader visualise the story, not only in imagery but thought.
The narrative does not want to be too long and repetitive, but quality and evocative that inspires along with the photography.
Any writing must be grammatically correct so it encourages the reader into wanting to peruse or buy the next magazine, or at the very least finish the article and want to follow links to more.
Please remember not to use colloquialisms or slang as the article will be translated worldwide.

Progressive Street was realised by Batsceba Hardy through the love of Street photography, from roots born within the Deviant Art site. It started its life as a group on FB in early 2017 with the entry of Robert Bannister, Michael Kennedy and Fabio Balestra, and has assumed its current form since the beginning of 2018.
